as i left work yesterday ready to get a run in on the trails, it started to rain … so i detoured to the grocery store. all i could think about was a warm bowl of beef stew, & this recipe turned out absolutely perfect. i had plans to have a certain someone over to watch mnf football, & with a new recipe i was slightly anxious about how it would turn out. he showed up with a big smile on his face and a warm embrace, just as excited as i was about having a big bowl of stew on a cold night. we sipped red wine while catching up our day & the weekend, & he raved about dinner, and also my cooking skills. i swear, the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach … & i do believe he was smitten by the time he left!
