coffee actually tasted as glorious as the coffee grounds smell.

with all the iced coffee posts lately, i wanted to share my recent discovery.
my sisters were in town over the weekend, and wanted iced coffee for their drive back to wilmington.
so i brewed a big ‘ol pot of very strong coffee, added some sugar while it was still warm and it had cooled off by the time they were ready to go.
they added ice/milk and voila! iced coffee. cheap cheap cheap iced coffee.
which got me thinking: on these hot summer mornings the last thing i want is a cup of hot coffee.
so i repeated the steps above, and once cooled, poured it into a half gallon pitcher and into the fridge it went … where it was ready and waiting for me monday morning. i poured a glass over ice, added milk and a splash of my favorite creamer - and was on my way! no need for the [always needed/wanted, never have time for] coffee stop.
go ahead and make yourself a batch, and be sure you brew the coffee strong so it stands up to the melting ice.
save time. save money. be refreshed.
update: i found a better way. click here for cold-brewed coffee instructions.

thanks to rhyan’s grandma, this little beauty is now ours.

she received it as a christmas gift but never used it, so rhyan suggested we put it to good use.

i see many happy mornings in our future!
