this weekend, mariana hosted a very lovely girls’ sunday brunch for all of us! complete with many homemade dishes, cards against humanity, and of course, brunch cocktails. i took all of these food pictures because man, these ladies can cook. natasha made homemade cinnamon rolls, grace whipped up banana pudding, the chicken sausage/cheese/broccoli quiche was sam’s dish, i made the blueberry cake, sam brought bacon, our host made fruit salad with a custard topping, and leah kept us stocked with mimosas and bloody marys. YUM.

a perfect way to spend sunday afternoon. thanks, ladies!

i am beyond blessed to have such a solid group of gals in my life.

a most lovely dinner with some of my favorite girls last night. lauren hosted us and cooked a delicious bolognese [via barefoot contessa]. sam brought yummy dip, i threw together a cranberry/walnut/goat cheese salad, natasha baked garlic bread from scratch [bolded because of how impressed i am] and stuffed it with parmesean [yes, you read that right], and grace topped us off with some amazing peanut butter frosted brownies.

throw in a few bottles of wine + lots of laughs, and before i knew it it was past my bedtime. thank you ladies, for being the highlight of my week.

this night. these girls. that food. [wins it all]

// i don’t mean to brag//

but my girlfriends are the cutest & funniest, craziest & smartest, all-around best girls around — without a doubt.

this weekend was for
trying new beers friday night with my guy before the marc maron show [which was just okay, we were a bit disappointed] followed by a late night snack at snoopy’s: because sometimes you just want need a hot dog with hot fries.
saturday morning was for a long trail run, and breakfast together before parting ways for rhyan’s basketball game. while they lost the game, it was against one of the best teams in the league - so that somehow made it okay.
a phone call from a good friend late that afternoon turned into last minute girls night, complete with a ton of laughs + cold beers. [and maybe some dancing] just what we all needed, a fun and fancy-free saturday night out.
while sunday brought a beautiful warm day, it also brought a hellacious hangover. all i could do was curl up on the couch + watch football all afternoon, shame on me!
needless to say, this weekend was a good one!

// sometimes //

you leave christmas dinner & drinks with girlfriends feeling so refreshed & renewed — you just wanna pinch yourself to make sure it wasn’t a dream.

a friend is someone who knows all about you and still loves you.

gpoyw | birthday smooches from the girls edition
this was taken saturday night at the busy bee, with my dear friends erika and charlotte. both of whom i happen to work with … yep, you heard right, friends and coworkers!
we had a wonderful time out on the town, and this picture sums up just how blessed i am. to have such great girlfriends who are always there when i need them, to talk to when things are bad and when things are good. to laugh with, the cry with, to dance with.
what girlfriends are for. to be there for each other through thick and thin, highs and lows. these two are right up there at the top of my list. for so many reasons.
here’s to another year of friendship, love, and lots of laughter!
